The Galatea Foundation works in benefit of the health and wellbeing of doctors through as participative means as possible. It aims to do this byputting physicians at the very centre of its actions, and by collaborating, in a variety of ways, with other institutions, bodies and groups which share similar interests.
A wide and modern vision of the health of the general population must take into account the health of the professionals responsible for looking after it. One must also understand the complexity and transcendence in which this social function is carried out in order to be able to contribute to providing these professionals with adequate answers that make it possible for the them to practise proficiently and efficiently in the long term.
The range of programmes and projects carried out by the Galatea Foundation are aimed at identifying both the most sensitive groups within this collective and specific situations representing risk. The activities undertaken must be based on reflection, rigorous debate and the most up to date scientific evidence. To achieve these aims it is important to cooperate with the best experts in each of the different lines of work.
The Galatea Foundation must be capable of exploring all possible avenues in order to obtain the resources necessary to develop its projects . Its management is based on maximum transparency, efficacy and efficiency, consolidating its own model which seeks synergies with other professional institutions and bodies.
