The health of nurses
Introduction and objectives
Since its inception, the Galatea Foundation has developed its action plans around the goal of improving the health of the doctors of Catalonia, whilst also seeking to expand its activities to take in health professionals as a whole. Since 2000, the RETORN programme has focussed on nursing professionals presenting mental health or addiction related problems. In a related development, the Official Nursing College, one of the patrons of the foundation, has taken a further step in this direction and plans to start a programme this year focussing on health promotion amongst nursing professionals.
General objectives:
- To understand the health status of nurses in Catalonia and their exposure to different risk factors.
- To carry out activities focussing on psycho-affective risk prevention and health promotion amongst this professional collective.
