Theme 2: Professionals’ resilience in a changing health system

The second part of the Congress was dedicated to professionals’ resilience in a changing health system. The economic recession has seriously affected the budget of many different health systems. The economic hardships of patients, salaries and working conditions all impact the resilience of health professionals. Organizations need to find solutions for this issue, and programs to prevent burnout among professionals are also needed. “Healthy physicians will have healthy clients” was one of the ideas most often repeated in this part of the event. Participants from across Europe presented studies on risk factors faced by health professionals, as well as on protecting factors that help professionals develop their resilience and fulfil their responsibilities in a healthier manner.
